Good evening,

Another fantastic week here at LP! The teachers felt all of your love and support as they were showered with treats, meals and more!! On behalf of all of us, THANK YOU! We also had several students honored this week for a variety of different things. We hope you will join us for our last WSM on Tuesday, June 5th @ 9:30 to celebrate all of their accomplishments.

Please don’t forget to check out this week’s edition of the LP Press May 11. As always, it is filled with important information.

For those of you celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend, enjoy the special time with loved ones.

LP Press March 16th

Good afternoon,

As I mentioned last week, this week’s LP Press is linked instead of attached as a
document. Our hope is that this provides an easily managed way to read through
PTSA and school information on a weekly basis. It will also be a nice reminder
to check out our website on a regular basis.

We have another large edition, so please take some time to read through it. Many
of you may be interested in checking out the PTA Summer Scholarship
Application. The deadline is fast approaching!

This week we have had the Hoffman Estates Police Department monitoring our dismissal
and drop off traffic, specifically on Newport Road (behind the building). It is
important that we are all aware of some simple things we can do to alleviate
congestion in our neighborhood. We have great neighbors and would like to show them
respect from our community.  Blocking driveways
and making streets impassable cause safety issues for our students as well.

When dropping off/picking up students on Newport or Hillcrest, please do not park
your vehicle in front of driveways, in the middle of the street, in front or
near crosswalks or the back path. If you need to park your vehicle, please do
so up the street so that your parked vehicle does not casue a “bottleneck” with
traffic. If you see congestion, please refrain from adding to it.

Enjoy the wonderful weather this weekend!

Good evening,

Although the surprise of snow this morning threw my morning off a bit, I must admit the ride in was beautiful. The students enjoyed playing in the mounds of snow during recess this afternoon, so in the words of one of our second graders, “School is super fun when there is pretty snow to play in!”

In last week’s email I asked for families to send feedback on what health and well-being mean to them as a family. If you have not shared and would like to, please email me or send in your feedback this week.

Please read through the attached LP Press.

 Have a great weekend!

I hope everyone is thoroughly enjoying the beautiful weather and the anticipated day off tomorrow! I have attached both the LP Press and this year’s Yearbook Order Form to this email. Please take some time to review both of these attachments. Schaumburg School District has made an enormous commitment to the children of the communities it serves. In partnership with other local agencies, the organization Schaumburg CAN ( children * activity * nutrition) has been established. You can check out more information at www.schaumburgcan.org The LP staff has begun serious conversations regarding the health and wellbeing of our students as well. We would like to hear from YOU! Please take some time to talk as a family about what health and wellbeing mean to your family. What does activity and nutrition look like in your lives? How do you provide balance? We would appreciate any feedback that can be provided to us. Please send any written feedback to me via email or feel free to send it in an envelope marked OFFICE before Monday, Feb 27th. Our committee would like to compile information and discuss what we can do to support our families efforts and values.

Good afternoon,

This post contains A LOT of information, so please take the time to look through everything carefully. Not only is the LP Press attached, but a WITWILP parent volunteer request form is as well.

·        Although WITWILP (our newest Big Event) does not take place until the end of May, we have already started planning and are looking forward to a strong parent partnership. The attached volunteer form will provide you the opportunity to select how you can participate. Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions.

·        ISAT’s begin the week of March 5th. Please make every effort to ensure children are at school and on time every day. Absences due to vacations and doctor appointments make it difficult for our 3rd -8th grade students to take their tests in a consistent test friendly environment.

·        As a reminder, we do allow students to bring water bottles to school to drink throughout the day. Please make sure you are only sending water.  Juices, flavored waters, etc. are not allowed. The damage these drinks cause to materials and carpets are far worse than water.

·        Notice from DISTRICT 54 STC of PTA:  PTA is partnering with the Illinois State Board of Education to host several public meetings about the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) flexibility waiver. Illinois is applying for a waiver and wants to provide information and gather feedback from parents, general community members and school personnel. One of these meetings will be held in School District 54. The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, at Addams Junior High School. Attached is the meeting announcement that contains more information. Individuals planning to attend are asked to RSVP by completing the registration form available on the PTA website at www.illinoispta.org.

Our PTA is encouraging parents to attend and to RSVP by Monday, Feb. 13. The direct link to the registration form is:    http://www.illinoispta.org/Legislation/WaiverRegistration.pdf .If you determine at the last minute that you will be able to attend but have not registered, you are still welcome to attend the meeting.

Have a great weekend! Enjoy the snow.. . . .

Good afternoon,

Dad’s & Donuts was a success this morning. The children seemed to really enjoy starting
their day with special people in their life.

Next Friday, February 3rd we will host our monthly WSM as well as our first Parent Visitation Day for prospective families. Because we have invited our guests to our WSM, it is important to know parking will be limited. We are asking the staff and current LP parents park on the street if possible, so that prospective parents have access to our parking lot.

Attached is this week’s LP Press. This week’s edition includes information regarding
upcoming dates and events.

Happy New Year!

I’ve heard from many of you, as well as many of our students about the wonderful
experiences that took place over break. It is so nice catching up on what happens when we are not at school!

Attached is this week’s edition of the LP Press. Please take a few moments to read through
it. Thank you to all of you that attended our WSM this afternoon. For those of you that were unable to attend, the excitement of our new BIG EVENT began. Ask your kids about it. My letter next week will provide more information about what is in store for us this spring!

Next week begins our second round of student-led conferences. We all recognize how
valuable providing our students an opportunity for reflection is. On behalf of the students and staff, we look forward to seeing you there!

Have a great weekend!
