Thank you so much for all of you who have already volunteered your time to come and read in our classes. Today, Coops from Schaumburg Boomers came and visited our classes!! We gathered all together in Miss Vesper’s class and heard two stories about baseball.
The kids did a great job with MAP testing round 1. MAP Round 2 will take place on Friday, December 9th!! Make sure the kids get a good night’s rest and a big healthy breakfast
We had fun adding feathers to Turkeys and showing everything we know about that number! Check our fun out below
We celebrated Yellow Day by reading Little Yellow, Little Blue. Then we painted little yellow and little blue’s favorite activities with our fingers!
We also got a little visit from Mrs. Prochaska today! We learned about the five I-CARE rules. They are: we listen to each other, hands are for helping not hurting, we use I-CARE language, we care about each others feelings, we are responsible for what we say and do. We also met I-CARE cat. Next week, we’ll learn more about I-CARE rule #1: we listen to each other.
On Friday we will be taking our first MAP test. Here we are practicing using a computer. If you would like to go through the practice test at home please go HERE!
We celebrated Orange day today in K.1 Land. In Kindergarten literacy, we read The Big Orange Splot. It was about a man named Mr. Plumbean and instead of having a neat house on a neat street, he wanted a house that showed all his hopes and dreams. He said “My house is me and I am it!” He painted his house with lots of colors and brought in palm trees and a hammock. After reading the story, we designed our own Orange Splot Houses. Here we are creating our houses!
