Lincoln Prairie Weekly Update August 30
We have been thrilled to have our kindergarteners for their first week of school. They bring such joy and excitement to our hallways! With the addition of our 5 year olds, has come one of the greatest benefits to our K-8th grade environment. It is a true pleasure to see students helping our youngest friends. From the serious commitment our first grade buddies have taken in helping their kindergarten friends to our 8th graders who have joined them at lunch and recess, we have seen mentoring and leadership from our children at their best! The impressive part of many of these relationships are that they are happening authentically. There was an 8th grade boy that approached me interested in helping. It was quickly clear that he was a true support to the young ones he was helping. From helping with the monkey bars, to helping open milks and corral our young ones, he did it all! These observations this week are the steps on our JOURNEY this year that make the experience worthwhile!
Beginning Tuesday, September 3rd, our morning arrival procedures will begin for the year. Parents will no longer enter the building to drop off children. You are welcome to walk them to the crosswalks, path or up to the front, side or back door where a staff member will be there to greet them.
