Lincoln Prairie Friday Update May 8
Good afternoon parents,
We hope you took time this week to enjoy life! As a staff, some of us challenged ourselves to try something new – from juggling, kayaking or new recipes, we found JOY in this JOURNEY. We enjoyed seeing such fun family pictures in the community padlet this week. Some of our favorites were the Dress Up Day pictures of parent and child twins like Ahmir and his dad, Christopher and his dad, Camilia and her mom and Violet and her big sister – such a fun way to connect at home. 🙂
We know many homes will be celebrating Mother’s Day this Sunday. On behalf of the entire Lincoln Prairie staff, we’d like to share our appreciation for our students’ mothers this year. You’ve taken on a unique role these past couple months. You were and remain the most influential teacher in your child’s life. However teaching “school” while also balancing life’s other responsibilities is something you didn’t sign up for.
Our appreciation for you is for WHAT you are putting into this work. You are putting in patience, some fun, vulnerability, grace and in the less ideal moments, a story your kids will share when they look back on these moments for years to come. You are PRESENT and showing your children that a mother PERSEVERES. A mother LOVES. A mother FAILS and then TRIES again and again. And above all, a mother does WHATEVER IT TAKES for her child and that is what you are doing right now.
Thank you for truly partnering with us through this JOURNEY of ups and downs. We appreciate you! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
