April 1, 2021
Dear Lincoln Prairie Community,

This is one of our favorite days of the year . . . April Fool’s Day! One might think that it is because of a love of good old fashioned jokes and pranks. But, it is actually more so because of the reminder that April is

when the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining more and the warmer weather is here, except maybe today! We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and extra time with family and friends!

Picture Day for the 20-21 School Year

We are able to offer Spring pictures of our students from Lifetouch this year.  Our scheduled date is Monday, April 12th. All in-person students will be photographed in the morning, and remote students will have the opportunity to sign up for a time in the afternoon. If your child attends remotely, and you would like to have his/her picture taken, please select an appointment using the link below.  There will not be a picture day retake day scheduled this year.

Attendance

Please remember, if you are an In Person learner and need to work remotely or will be absent, you need to call the attendance line. In Person learners are expected at school all 5 days per week. If your child is a Remote Learner and will not be online, please also call the attendance line.

5Essentials Survey

Once again we are reaching out to our families and asking you to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey to provide us with your perspective and help guide our school improvement efforts. The parent survey will be available online through April 2, 2021, by clicking here. Please note, when you enter the school name, please type in Lincoln Prairie to select our school.

Yearbook Information

With a date set for school portraits to be taken at LP, we are now able to include these in the yearbook.  This is very exciting!  In order to be able to include official school portraits in the yearbook we need to extend our due date with the yearbook company, which means yearbooks will not arrive before the end of this school year.  When the order arrives, yearbooks will be mailed to our 8th grade families and any families that are leaving Lincoln Prairie.  All others will be able to get their yearbook orders in August.

If you already turned in your form and payment but no longer wish to order due to the new arrival date, please contact Mrs. Gajdos at [email protected].  If you have not had a chance to order your yearbook, there is still time.  Click the link below to access the order form.  Thank you!

Registration for 2021-2022 School Year

Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is now open and available through the Infinite Campus Portal. Please login to review the current information and make any necessary changes. If you do not have a portal account, you should have received an email on March 13 inviting you to create one.

As a reminder, all families are required to prove that they live within District 54 boundaries every year. If we are unable to verify your residency electronically, you will receive a letter by U.S. mail, which will list the residency documents you can provide to the school office to complete your registration.

You are also able to pay the $50 consumable fee for 2021-2022, as well as purchase milk and sign up for the instructional device insurance through the portal. If you believe you will qualify for the Free Lunch Program in the 2021-2022 school year, and therefore will receive a fee waiver, do not pay the consumable material fee now. Applications will be available in August for the Free Lunch Program.

Information about busing will be mailed the first week in June. Should you have any questions, please our office. Thank you for your cooperation.

Have a WONDERful weekend,

Amanda Stochl and Amanda Moore
