Dear Lincoln Prairie Community,

We hope your families enjoyed connecting with your child’s teachers over the past two days. Although different than our in person meetings, teachers enjoyed sharing time focused on celebrating our students and what is to come for them this year! Thank you for partnering with us on this journey. It was evident in our conversations that YOU parents are doing an amazing job supporting your children. The time, care and grace you are showing through this experience is a positive model for your children; one we know will benefit them for years to come.

Hybrid Learning Update

We are actively preparing for the exciting return for many students in just over a week’s time! These families will receive the Group A or B assignment via email on Tuesday, October 13th at 4:00 p.m. We will also send additional information midweek which will outline Lincoln Prairie specifics regarding what the first two days of Hybrid learning will look like, arrival/dismissal, lunchtime procedures, etc. All families will receive an email from their homeroom teacher that will outline grade level and class information which will include what students should bring to school each day.   Please note that if you are planning to travel out of state over this long weekend, please check which states are on the list below requiring a quarantine upon return. Your student will not be allowed at school until this quarantine is over. If this applies to your child, you will simply keep them home and continue with remote learning until their quarantine is over. Hybrid Material Pick-Up

We will have material pick-up on Thursday, October 15th for students who will be returning to school for  hybrid instruction. Families will pick-up a symptom-free verification card to attach to their child(ren)’s backpack and a lanyard for students to clip their mask on during lunch. The pick-up times will be provided in your letter next week.

Friday, October 16th

District 54 will provide an asynchronous day of learning on Friday, October 16th.  This day will focus on activities based on the book I Am Human by well-known author Susan Verde and Art by Peter H. Reynolds.  Their book, I Am Human, is a book about embracing empathy and the potential of each day. This book and the activities for the day, encourage us to make good choices by acting with compassion and having empathy for ourselves and others. The social-emotional lesson activities will focus on being The Best Version of Me! Students will be able to select activities that support their social-emotional well-being. Our school will also have a Padlet where students can share a picture, post or video of their work from the day.  The interactive link for activities will be sent to you on Friday, October 16th.

This day will focus on how we learn, dream, and wonder to be the best version of ourselves. We hope you’ll join us to share how you’re connected to your friends, your family, your school, and your community. After all, we are all humans together!

Enjoy the long weekend with your families!
