  Dear Lincoln Prairie Community,

We enjoyed our first Whole School Meeting of the year in a very new way! While we can’t all gather in the gym like we used to, we were able to engage in fun activities through all 18 classrooms and with all 430 students and staff at Lincoln Prairie! How you may ask…we used our intercom system and creatively engaged our students our first ever INTERACTIVE WHOLE SCHOOL MEETING! It included a dance party, a trivia game, a classroom chant throwdown, a fun word game and more! Ask your child what they liked most about our COMMUNITY activity today.

Helping Hands Committee
For years the Lincoln Prairie community has worked to support each other in various ways. When a family has a need due to an immediate or short term circumstance, they can reach out to Amanda Stochl, Paula Falvo or Natalie Stark and we will help determine how we can support your family. If the needs extend beyond the school day, we will reach out to this committee to see if they can help get your family through the difficult time. Also, if you are interested in being one of the “Helping hands”, please complete this by clicking here to sign up. Thank you!

Recess Equipment
Our K-5 students are enjoying their daily recess time. In addition to the playground, they have shared recess equipment which includes balls and jump ropes. Please do not send these items with your child to school. We’ve recently purchased a few more for for each grade level so availability shouldn’t be an issue.

Run to Read
Join School District 54 in supporting literacy and promoting health and fitness for the young and old by participating in the 17th Annual Run to Read. Please click here for more information and to register.  All proceeds for the event will be used to purchase books for classroom libraries.

With suburban Cook County now in a level of high community transmission of COVID-19 (Cook County Department of Public Health), School District 54 has made the decision to move the 2021 Run to Read to a virtual format only. Our goal for this race has always been to promote health and fitness. In 2021, that includes a focus on keeping our students and staff, and their families, healthy so that we can continue to keep our students attending school in person.

We hope that you will continue to join us by walking or running 1-mile, 5K, 10K, kids’ sprint, or any distance you prefer during race weekend—Sept. 24-26. Wear the T-shirt during your virtual race, take a photo and tag us on social media at #54Run2Read.
Thank you for your support,

Amanda Stochl, Principal and Amanda Moore, Assistant Principal
