Happy Friday LP families,
Words cannot express how truly grateful we are to be part of the Lincoln Prairie community. We have witnessed, first hand, so many wonderful things this week that speak to the culture of our community and the LP Experience!
A huge thank you to all of our parents for your contribution to Staff Appreciation Week! We enjoyed extra time together and food provided every day. As always, there was more than enough provided, bringing more staff into the lounge to connect and take a few minutes to relax. We really appreciated reading the thoughtful comments from the students as well. Their petals reminded us of why our work is so important as well.
Our week was also filled with preparations for our yearly tradition – our Big Event this weekend. We brought several PDTs together at Schaumburg High School all week to rehearse and bring our musical to life. We know that for parents, participation was a large commitment of time, resources and care. We thank you for supporting your child in this endeavor. This morning we kicked off the weekend of shows with time together in the gym celebrating The Little Mermaid!
Lastly, we celebrated the completion of our fundraising efforts to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The LP community raised $3,680.44. We celebrated throughout the week with whole school scooter races and today with a fun-filled afternoon of a pictionary, bingo, chair volleyball, a paper plane challenge and more!
Our hope is that as we enter into the last weeks of school, you pause to notice the parts of your child’s school experience that engage them, provide a positive memory and help them to feel a sense of belonging in our community!
For those of you celebrating Mother’s Day, we wish you a day filled with happiness and (maybe) relaxation!
Have a wonderful weekend!
