We want to provide specific directions for parents who pick up their children after school. Please review the information below carefully to ensure all students are supervised properly.

  • All K-1 students exit Door 7 and remain with a staff member until they are picked up. Please do not tell your child to “meet you” at the car. They will not be released from staff supervision.
  • If you are waiting in your car for your child to meet you, they must go directly to your car and not stop to play at the park.
  • If you are allowing your child to play at the playground after school, you must be actively monitoring their behavior from the area.
  • We expect all students to follow school rules for playground behavior, even while playing after school and will be reviewing this in all classes next week. Here are some helpful tips, so that you are aware of what the expectations are as well.
  • K-1 students are not allowed to climb to the tallest parts of the playground equipment; this is intended for older children.
  • Students may not play tag on the playground equipment, only on the flat ground.
  • Rough play, tackling, pushing/pulling, play fighting is strictly prohibited.
  • Lastly, please know that if you see your child or another child engaging in unsafe behavior, we expect you to ask them to stop. If they do not stop, please attempt to find their parent.

We hope that by working through these details, we can ensure that afterschool time together (students of all ages playing together and parents connecting with each other) creates a strong sense of community for our families. Thank you in advance for paying attention to these details.
