We LOVE Halloween and all it brings at Lincoln Prairie.  For years we have embraced the idea that celebrations can look different and should look different based on the vast age span in our school.

On Thursday, October 31st, our K-3 students will enjoy dressing in costume, parading around the school, followed by participating in class parties.  The K-3 students will parade through the building as well as outside, weather permitting.  Our 4-5 students will enjoy one of their favorite traditions, Wax Museum, which will also take place on Halloween.  This event ties into their curricular studies and provides them the opportunity to showcase their learning while dressing up in a theme based costume.  Lastly, our Middle Level students will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 25th from 6:30-8:30pm at their annual Halloween Gym Jam.

Please do not send any edible treats with your child for their class party or to take home.  No food or candy will be passed out or served to students.

In addition, we have a few details to ensure we create a safe and enjoyable experience for all.  Costumes are welcomed during the above mentioned activities, however, they are not required.  If wearing a costume, masks should be avoided to ensure sight isn’t compromised.  They should also be free from extreme blood and gore and please do not send any look alike weapons with your child as part of their costume (guns, knives, swords, etc.).  K-5 classroom teachers will send specific information regarding the events taking place for Halloween, at a later date.
