Our goal at Lincoln Prairie School is for students to practice self-discipline and accept responsibility for their behavior. To reach this goal, a consistent structure for progressive consequences is utilized across all locations in the school throughout the day including during arrival/dismissal, specials, acceleration periods, lunch and recess.

  • First infraction: Warning from staff member
  • Second infraction: Classroom-issued consequence and potential phone call home
  • Third infraction: Second level classroom-issued consequence and required parent phone call
  • Fourth infraction: All of the above and referral to the office
  • Severe Clause: Dangerous or extreme off-task behaviors immediately referred to the office

Behavior that is disruptive to the education process and infringes upon the rights of others, will not be tolerated. Students displaying “Severe Clause” behavior will receive an immediate referral to the office and parents/guardians will be notified by Mrs. Stochl or Mrs. Coakley. Examples of “Severe Clause” behaviors would include: fighting; insubordination; serious verbal abuse or use of profanity or obscenity; acts that jeopardize the health, safety, and welfare of others; repeated and willful behavior that constitutes disregard for the rules and regulations of the school; and chronic behaviors involving classroom disruptions or inappropriate language.

Our goal is to teach students positive behaviors, so that all students can work in a school environment that is safe, fun, free from distraction, and conducive to maximum learning potential. Thank you for your partnership, and please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Stochl, if you have any questions about our school-wide structure for progressive consequences.
