Welcome back Lincoln Prairie families!

To start, there has been quite a bit of construction work happening at school this summer. Phase 1 of the project is finishing up (roof, partial ventilation, and partial classroom changes that border the new addition). The fencing has gone up to begin staging for the external build and we are on a day to day waiting basis for the equipment drop off and more fun to begin. I’ve been beyond pleased with the communication, professionalism and work that both our District 54 personnel, as well as Nicholas and Associates have put into our project. I will continue to provide updates throughout the year.

Once again, we will be inviting you to drop off school supplies and connect with teachers on Tuesday, August 13 from 5:00-6:00pm.  If you are still in need of this year’s school supplies, you can find our lists on our website by clicking here. Please know that there will be a folder in your child’s classroom that houses A LOT of important information from both school and the Lincoln Prairie Parebt Teacher Student Association. If you are not able to attend,  the folder will be sent home on the first day of school.

As I mentioned in last week’s email, we are taking a short hiatus from our annual Back to School Community Picnic this year. Instead, we will gather on Friday, August 16 at 6:30pm at Schaumburg Boomer’s Stadium (in our own section) for fun and connection. We are looking forward to having the time to socialize and have fun alongside new and old friends. Please don’t forget to purchase your tickets by clicking here.

For our Middle Level students, their schedules will go live on Wednesday, August 7.

As you plan for the first day of school, we have a few reminders.

  • Plan for a good night’s sleep and breakfast.
  • Pack your child water, a healthy snack and a lunch.
  • Make sure they know how they are going home at the end of the day.
    • Walkers and Parent Pick Up will exit out Door 3 or Door 4.
    • Bus Riders will be guided by staff to their bus. Please remember that buses usually run much later than usual the first week of school in the morning and afternoon as they are getting to know their students. All bus riders must show their bus passes when getting on the bus.
  • Prepare them for less anxiety by reminding them it will be a relaxing day and their teachers are there to SUPPORT them fully.

Our school office is now open. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! 847-357-5955.

See you soon,

Amanda Stochl, Principal & Ariana Carbone, Assistant Principal
